FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions About Massages and Spa Treatments
Where will my massage or body treatment take place?
Our massage rooms at Amazing Hands Day Spa are designed to enhance your relaxation with soft music to soothe your senses and a tranquil, warm ambiance. You’ll lie down on a specially designed table crafted for optimal comfort.
Do I have to completely undress?
Not if you are uncomfortable with undressing. While most massages are traditionally provided with the client unclothed, you should only undress to your comfort level. Rest assured, you will be appropriately draped throughout the entire session for your privacy and comfort and our therapists provide the ultimate discretion.
Will the massage therapist or body work specialist be present when I disrobe?
No, you’ll have privacy to cover yourself with a sheet before the session begins. The practitioner will respectfully inform you of the process and then leave the room while you undress and settle onto the table, covering yourself with a warmed sheet.
Will I be covered during the session?
Absolutely. You’ll be properly draped at all times, ensuring warmth and comfort. Only the specific area being worked on will be exposed at any given time.
What parts of my body will be massaged?
A comprehensive session will most often involve massage on your back, arms, legs, feet, hands, neck, and shoulders.
What will the massage or bodywork feel like?
The feel of your massage depends largely on the treatment you select. For instance, a Swedish massage, known for its relaxation benefits, is the most common massage. It may start with gentle, flowing strokes to calm your nervous system and relax surface muscle tension. As you relax, pressure may gradually increase to target specific areas of tension. The use of light oil or lotion helps hydrate your skin and allows for smooth massage strokes. However, if you select a deep tissue massage, more intense, deep strokes and kneading will be used. In any massage, if you feel any discomfort, you should communicate this to your massage therapist and they will adjust the pressure accordingly.
Are there different kinds of massage and bodywork?
Indeed, there are many types of spa treatments available at Amazing Hands Day Spa. Review our Services page to explore all that we offer. In any case, we can tailor a massage that best suits your needs and preferences.
What should I do during the massage or bodywork session?
You don’t need to do anything but relax! This is your time to seek relief and rejuvenation. Before beginning, it’s always a good idea to ask any questions about the technique or pressure, and point out problem areas you want targeted, as well as any areas or injuries you want avoided. During the session, simply relax and communicate your comfort level with the practitioner so that we can adjust pressure or positioning as needed.
How will I feel after the massage or bodywork session?
Most people experience deep relaxation, relief from tension, and heightened energy and awareness. You may even feel pain-free for the first time in a long time! It’s common to feel rejuvenated for days afterward. It’s recommended to drink plenty of water to flush out released toxins from your system.
What are the benefits of massage and bodywork?
Massage and bodywork offer a range of benefits, including releasing muscular tension, improving circulation, enhancing flexibility, reducing stress and fatigue, promoting healing, improving posture, and reducing blood pressure. Additionally, it can improve sleep quality, concentration, and overall well-being.
Are there any medical conditions that would make massage or bodywork inadvisable?
Yes, that’s why it’s important to disclose any health concerns or medications before your session. If you’re under a doctor’s care, it’s advisable to obtain written approval before receiving massage or bodywork. Additionally, if you are undergoing a high-risk pregnancy, a doctor’s clearance should be obtained before any massage therapy.
